Now . . . . .You ready?!!

Rob Boynton -  vocals, bass guitar

Rob has been playing professionally for 15 years and is renowned for his smooth, laid back style. His finesse on bass is often compared to someone playing fretless. His main influences are Paul McCartney of the Beatles, Banner Thomas of Molly Hatchett, Geddy Lee of Rush and Timothy B. Schmit of Poco and the Eagles.   Rob is currently working his finesse as the slick and stylistic bassman for "Sin Waggin'"

Rob began his journey as a musician at the age of twenty, when he began to learn to play acoustic guitar.  Mostly self-taught he didn't pick up the bass guitar until the age of 31, when he joined his first band "Final Chapter".  He has played in many up and coming local bands such as Final Chapter, Wanted Alive, Hired Gun, Gold Rush, Whiplash, The Defendants, Wheelz, Geezer Inc. and Willow Creek.  He has performed at many North Central Florida area venues, including "The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park" , The Sunshine Eagles and many, many honky tonks.

Rob has contributed to a number of songwriting projects and performed studio work with noted local musicians Mitch Sands, Robert Lovelace, Jon Alexander, Angela Lang and Johnny Morrison. He is most influenced by Southern and Classic Rock, Blues and Country.

His instrument of choice are a rare Alvarez 4-string electric bass guitar.  Rob has recently also added to his sonic palette by building a pedal board and adding some effects ( MXR Phase 90, Cruzer Analog Delay,  a BBE Sonic Stomp and an Aphex bass exciter with a Gator G-Bus=8 supplying the power to the pedals.

"Not having as much stage time under his perverbial belt as most dosen't stop Rob from playing at a level that rivals the best around!! He can talk the talk and walk the walk on that bass guitar!!"

   Alvarez electric bass guitars

This 4-string Alvarez bass guitar was probably made in the 90's and from what little I've been able to learn about it, it is probably a Alvarez AE(?) model, produced in Korea. I haven't been able to track down much more information on it as of yet, but I am scowering the internet to try and find out about it. It has active pickups in a P/J formation with a tone and volume knob for each set of pickups.  It has a bolt-on neck and Alvarez pickups.

Rob's first 5-string and second Alvarez bass is a beautiful AE800 bass guitar with a burgundy finish he found on-on-line on Ebay for a great price (his little secret!) It has active pick-ups with one tone control and seperate volume controls for each pick-up.

Rob also recently upgraded his bass rig with the addition of a Line 6 LD400 Pro amplifer (400 watts w/ two 10" speakers) as well as a Peavy 15" cabinet (the amp is rated at 650 watts with an extension cabinet.)  The Line 6 LD400 Pro amplifier models 5 different amp/speaker combinations as well as having a built-in tuner and chorus, octaver and filter effectd on-board.  Rob also purchased the Line 6 FBVexp2 foot pedal to be able to switch channels seamlessly on the fly.  With is new rig, Rob has plenty of headroom and enough power for any occasion.
