Well, the Inside Joke Band is going to be very busy on March 28, 2009!  We are playing from 1:00 - 1:30 p.m. on the Garden Stage by the Thomas Center at the 2009 Spring Arts Festival.  After we get done with that show, we're packing up and heading over to the Sunshine Eagles @ Dubs to get set up for our inagural show at the club that evening.  We'll be jamming the night away from 8 p..m. to midnight. For those of you who remember Dubs in its heyday, the club is still vey cool.  They have great food and the building is a non-smoking establishment, so you can enjoy your food and listen to the band without that smoky haze you find in bars.  There is a minimal $3.00 cover for members of the Eagles and a $5.00 cover for non-members.  They seem to have very reasonable prices on their food and drinks, so come on out and have a fun night with the band!

What I'm Thankful For

As we enter into the holiday season, I've been thinking about the things that I am thankful for.  I have many blessings in my life, among these, I am able to play in a band with two of my best friends.  I have very few true friends, and I'm very lucky to play in a band with two of them.  Inside Joke is more than just a band to me, it's another aspect of my family.  I'm very lucky to have friends that I consider family.  Too many people go through their lives not having even one friend that close, much less having two of them.  To me, the guys in the band are just as important as my wife, her kids, and our grandkids.  Their wives and kids are important to me, just like my own.  So, yes, I have many, many blessings in my life.  Add to that the fact that music is one of the most important things in my life, and that I get to do that with my best friends, it multiplies the importance of it to me.  I try very hard to keep a positive spin in every aspect of my life, and being around positive people such as Bill and Terry make that pretty easy!  So give thanks this holiday season and let the loved ones in your life be aware of how much they mean to you.  That old saying about being thankful for what you have and don't worry about what you don't have is one that I try to live my life by.  It makes things a lot easier if you don't worry about what you don't have, and about things you can't control. Go with what life has given you and make the best of it.  And if you're lucky, like I am, you'll have friends and family to share the best parts of your life.
